THE REPRESENTATIVE OF CHARACTER VALUES NARRATIVE EDUCATION ON POETIC JIDOR SENTULAN JOMBANG

Abstract

This study came up from the interest of researchers towards traditional arts in Jombang, East
Java, which is almost extinctie Jidor Sentulan. Jidor Sentulan is literary performances that
carried the story narrative prose dialogue and lyrics. Staging is accompanied by music jidor
literature, some rituals and attractions. In public life Jombang, Jidor Sentulan a stage that
represented the spirit of literary tradition. Therefore, this stage is the literary tradition that should
be preserved. This study discusses about the representation of the value of character
education on poetic narrative functions contained in Jidor Sentulan in Jombang. Etnopuitika be a
theoretical orientation. Etnopuitik analysis model used is the model analysis Luc Herman and
Bart Vervaeck. Literary form Jidor stage Sentulan analyzed using a qualitative approach. This
approach was used to understand and kept track of ideas or the ideas of cultural construction
built by the owner. Sources of data in this study are contained in the poetic narrative literature
Jidor Sentulan stage in Jombang. The results of this study indicate that (1) representasi nilai
karakter pendidikan pada narasi puitik yang terdapat dalam Jidor Sentulan di Jombang yang
memiliki fungsi nilai-nilai karakter pendidikan yang dikategorikan dalam tiga jenis, yakni (a)
fungsi tempat, (b) fungsi waktu, (c) fungsi kesadaran beberapa kesadaran meliputi (i) fungsi
persahabatan dan persaudaraan, (ii) fungsi semangat dan kerja keras, (iii) fungsi peduli terhadap
lingkungan sosial, dan (iv) fungsi ideologi dan religious. The results of a study of the
representation of the value of character education on poetic narrative functions contained in Jidor
Sentulan in Jombang also brings an understanding which does not stop just at the level of
function alone. Moreover , the results of this study also achieved a reflection that local
knowledge, in whatever form, is constructed not only for entertaining, but also having valuable
and social functioning, ideological, and religious.
