FRASA VERBA SUBORDINATIF DALAM WACANA NARATIF

Abstract


Phrases talk about the relationship between a word and other words. The use of the phrase is very important in making a sentence. The phrase consists of two categories, exocentric phrases and phrases endocentric. The use of this subordinate verba phrase is such kind of a phrase whose elements are not equal. Elements that are not equal in this phrase are divided into Head Element (UP) which is the most important element is described, while the other element is an attribute which is an additional element. This study employed qualitative descriptive method, as researchers sought to describe the use of such words or phrases or the written subordinate verba-phrase. The data source are the narrative discourse while the data are in the form of words in a sentence that include subordinate verba- phrase category. The collection of data in this study is the observation stage, the determination of the object, the identification of data, marking or coding, and selecting data. The findings of this research showed that subordinate verba-phrases are composed of structures : (1) Adverb + Verb (Adv + V), (2) Verb + Adverb (V + Adv), (3) Verb + Noun (V + N), (4) Verb + Adjective (V + Adj).
